The South Australia town of Ceduna, on the shores of Murat Bay on the west coast of the Eyre Peninsula, is located almost 790 kilometres north-west of the city of Adelaide. The town’s name comes from the Aboriginal word Chedoona, which means a place to sit and rest. The town has its own racecourse administered by the Ceduna Racing Club, staging 2 country race meetings annually. Although a meeting takes place each December, the principal race, the Ceduna Cup over 1600 metres takes place in January. Recent results of the Ceduna Cup are shown below.
